With the 2023 GRAMMYs in the rearview, the Recording Academy also bids adieu to GRAMMY Week — that joyful constellation of events that swirl around Music's Biggest Night.
From the GRAMMY Nominee Celebrations thrown by the New York and Los Angeles chapters to unforgettable bashes courtesy of GRAMMY House and the Producers & Engineers Wing, GRAMMY Week 2023 pulled out all the stops and did the world's leading society of music professionals justice.
Here's a breakdown of the main events surrounding the 2023 GRAMMYs, with conspicuous links to GRAMMY.com and MusiCares.org's coverage of each.
New York Chapter GRAMMY Nominee Celebration
The 2023 Recording Academy New York Chapter Nominee Celebration took place at Spring Place, a spacious, verdant, intimately lit workspace and social club in Tribeca.
As the pandemic receded, there was a tangible sense of relaxation and reverie — as a special appearance from New York Mayor Eric Adams underlined.
"When you sing, when you dance, when you play an instrument, you feed something inside us — [it] feeds the emotional anatomy of our spirit," Adams said.
He then broke the ice, calling out to a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient in the audience: "Slick Rick, if you only knew how many shorties I met off your songs!"
Los Angeles Chapter GRAMMY Nominee Celebration
Many of the best and brightest of the Recording Academy's Los Angeles Chapter gathered in Beverly Hills Jan. 28 for the group's 2023 GRAMMY Nominee Celebration. With over 300 nominations this year, the event was full of joy, pride, and love for music.
Guests mingled at members-only social club Spring Place, enjoying a brunch buffet of pastries and fresh juice and fruit, as well as omelets and waffles made to order.
Guests were also treated to tunes from DJ R Tistic, photo opps courtesy of Getty and Hypno, and swag bags full of goodies, including cards from co-presenting sponsor Hallmark Mahogany.

2023 Producers & Engineers Wing GRAMMY Week Event
"It really is all about the music and the positivity that it brings," GRAMMY-winning audio engineer Leslie Ann Jones said during the introductory remarks of the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing GRAMMY Week event held last Wednesday evening at the Village Studios in Los Angeles.
The mood was particularly buoyant at the 15th annual event. After all, this was the first time that it was held in person since 2020, and the hundreds of attendees warmed up for the awards ceremony by socializing and sampling specialty cocktails.
The hallways and reception areas of the legendary recording studio, host to an astonishing collection of famous artists, provided an evocative backdrop.
GRAMMY House Social Pop-Up
The Recording Academy and CBS presented the first-ever GRAMMY House: Where The Stars Align on the Hollywood Walk of Fame from Feb. 1-3 in celebration of the 2023 GRAMMYs.
For three days, the GRAMMY House hosted a full schedule of programming, performances, DJs and multimedia art installations.
The invitation-only experience featured a special tribute to this year's 50th anniversary of hip-hop, with a lovingly curated treasure trove of hip-hop history.
The hallway leading to the performance area was plastered with popular lyrics and catchphrases, while the main stage was styled like a subway station, with graffiti naming some of hip-hop's pioneers. Platinum plaques and photos demonstrated the culture's business and artistic achievements.

2023 Entertainment Law Initiative GRAMMY Week Event
"I never imagined a gathering of lawyers could be so popular," laughed a man waiting patiently at a long check-in line for the 25th Annual Entertainment Law Initiative GRAMMY Week event, held at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills on Feb. 3.
Inside the elegant ballroom, executive committee member Susan Genco spoke about the need for high caliber lawyers in the music industry. "Great songs elevate our best moments and comfort us in our worst," she said.
"But behind the magic, there is plenty of complexity. As the world continues to evolve, we must be flexible and adapt. Lawyers can simplify the path, so that artists can create their music.
GRAMMY Brunch
Music creators, advocates, members of Congress, leaders of the Recording Academy and others gathered in the ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills for the 4th annual GRAMMY Fund Brunch, a fundraiser for the GRAMMY Fund for Music Creators, the Recording Academy's Political Action Committee.
Held by the Academy’s Advocacy & Public Policy team, the annual event helps raise funds to support Congressional candidates that support music makers and the issues that affect them, including copyright protection, fair compensation for songwriters and artists, free expression, and other key music industry issues that impact creators.
Black Music Collective’s Recording Academy Honors
The BMC honored GRAMMY-winning artists Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott and Lil Wayne, as well as music executive Sylvia Rhone, each of whom was bestowed with the Global Impact Award and lauded for their personal and professional achievements.
Each award was presented by the honorees’ close colleagues and friends, followed by a performance by an artist who had worked with or been influenced by the awardee, including Snoop Dogg, Ciara, and 2 Chainz.
Busta Rhymes opened the night’s acts, issuing a quick and incredibly nimble set "Baby If You Give it To Me" and "Look at Me Now" before (literally) dropping the mic.
2023 Clive Davis Pre-GRAMMY Gala
A cultural icon and a crown jewel of the music industry's most important weekend, Clive Davis and the Recording Academy's Pre-GRAMMY Gala is known for a guest list full of household names and stellar performances remembered.
It's also a night when the most successful people in the music industry come together not as competitors, but in celebration. Or as Davis put it, "We come here to break bread."
Returning to the swank Beverly Hilton after a two year break, the fête featured an eclectic mix of personalities — a hallmark of the Gala — graced the red carpet as onlookers gathered outside the hotel, hoping for a glimpse of industry excellence.

MusiCares 2023 Persons Of The Year Gala
The Los Angeles Convention Center was a nexus for music history on Friday night — as the stars of Motown and some of today's most notable acts assembled for heartfelt tributes and show-stopping performances.
The beneficiaries of this wellspring of talent and love were Motown legends Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson, the 2023 MusiCares Persons Of The Year.
With stars ranging from Stevie Wonder and the Temptations to Brandi Carlile (who delivered an ovation-yielding performance of "The Tracks of My Tears") the night both spotlighted the MusiCares mission and honored Gordy and Robinson's culture-shifting achievements.
