Apple Surpasses Google As Most Valuable Brand
Apple
's brand value increased 84 percent over the last year to $153 billion, ending Google's four-year reign as the world's most valuable brand, according to a new study by global research agency Millward Brown. Google's brand value totaled $111.5 billion, a 2 percent decrease. Social media property Facebook posted the largest increase for the year and entered the top 100 brands list at No. 35 with a value of $19.1 billion, up 246 percent. Goldenvoice Posts Record Numbers For April/May Festivals
Concert promoter Goldenvoice posted a combined gross of more than $38 million and an aggregate attendance of more than 380,000 for its three festivals taking place in April/May — Coachella, the Big 4 Festival and Stagecoach. Coachella drew 75,000 paid attendees per day from April 16–18 and grossed $23 million, up from $21.7 million last year. The Big 4 Festival, featuring Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer, drew 49,400 paid attendees on April 23 and grossed $5.5 million, and country music festival Stagecoach, held April 30–May 1, drew 110,000 paid attendees and grossed approximately $10 million, up from $7.3 million last year.
