  • Formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey
     
  • In 1984 Bon Jovi released their self-titled debut album, which charted at No. 43 on the Billboard 200. The LP contained the band's first Top 40 single, "Runaway." Two years later, the band released their third studio album, Slippery When Wet, which earned them widespread recognition. The chart-topping album featured the No. 1 hits "You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Livin' On A Prayer."
     
  • The band took home their first career GRAMMY win for 2006 for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for "Who Says You Can't Go Home," which featured vocals by Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles.
     
  • Did you know? Jon Bon Jovi makes a brief cameo in Young Guns II, the 1990 film for which he wrote the No. 1 hit "Blaze Of Glory."
     
  • In 2002 Jon Bon Jovi and then-guitarist Richie Sambora performed at the MusiCares Person of the Year tribute gala honoring Billy Joel. The annual gala raises funds for MusiCares, which provides services and resources that cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies for music people.
     
  • In 2006 Jon Bon Jovi founded The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which helps families that have fallen into economic trouble get back on their feet.
