Biography

"Even on the most serious ballads, I'll throw a tongue-in-cheek remark."

  • Born Brad Douglas Paisley Oct. 28, 1972, in Glen Dale, West Virginia

  • Paisley garnered his first Top 40 hit with "He Didn't Have To Be," a track from his 1999 debut album, Who Needs Pictures. His 2003 album, Mud On The Tires, was his first to chart within the Top 10, hitting No. 9 on the Billboard 200.

  • Paisley won his first career GRAMMY for 2007 for Best Country Instrumental Performance for "Throttleneck." He made his GRAMMY stage debut at the 43rd GRAMMY Awards in 2001, performing "We Danced."

  • In his spare time, Paisley draws cartoons. He created the music video for 2015's "Crushin' It," incorporating cartoon animations of numerous country singers as superheroes who fight "alien robot beer cans."

  • In 2010 the country singer/songwriter donated instruments in support of the MusiCares Nashville Flood Relief Fund, which raised funds to assist victims of the 2010 Tennessee floods.
