- Born Diane Ernestine Earle Ross on March 26, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan.
- After scoring 12 No. 1 hits with the Supremes, including "Baby Love" and "Stop! In The Name Of Love," in 1970 Diana Ross scored her first No. 1 single with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" from her eponymous debut solo album.
- Ross received her first GRAMMY nomination for "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" at the 13th GRAMMY Awards. In 2012 she was honored with a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award. Ross has appeared as a presenter seven times on the GRAMMY telecast.
- Did you know? Ross won a Golden Globe for Best New Actress for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in 1972's Lady Sings The Blues.
- Ross' early work with the Supremes was the subject of the 2015 GRAMMY Museum exhibit, Legends Of Motown: Celebrating The Supremes.
- Ross has supported charities such as the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center and the United Service Organization.
