Biography

"I was born with this love for music, and I say 'born with' because I don't really remember a day waking up and deciding that I'm going to do music."

  • Born Hunter Easton Hayes on Sept. 9, 1991, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

  • Hunter Hayes burst onto the scene in 2011 when his self-titled debut album hit No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. The album's second single, "Wanted," topped the Hot Country Songs chart, making him the youngest male artist to reach No. 1 on the chart.

  • Hayes earned his first three career GRAMMY nominations for 2012, including Best New Artist. The singer/songwriter made his GRAMMY stage debut on the 56th GRAMMY Awards, performing "Invisible."

  • Did you know? Hayes played more than 30 different instruments on his debut album.

  • In 2014 Hayes treated 25 GRAMMY U members to an intimate performance at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City. That same year, he also performed alongside members of GRAMMY Camp — Jazz Session at the annual GRAMMY In The Schools Live! event during GRAMMY Week.
  • Also in 2014, Hayes broke the record for the most amount of concerts performed in a 24-hour window. The contest, held by Guinness World Records, was organized to support Child Hunger Ends Here.
