- Born Oct. 3, 1951, Compton, Calif.
- Keb' Mo' started came into prominence by writing songs for artists such as Jefferson Airplane. performer's solo career took off in 1994 when he released his self-titled debut, which reached No. 4 on Billboard's Blues Albums chart. The album featured "Come On In My Kitchen" and "Kind Hearted Woman Blues," both covers of legendary bluesman Robert Johnson.
- Mo' won his first career GRAMMY in 1996 for Best Contemporary Blues Album for Just Like You.
- Mo's real name is Kevin Roosevelt Moore. His original drummer, Quentin Dennard, used to call him "Keb Mo" and eventually, the name stuck.
- In 2013 Mo visited The Recording Academy's Nashville Chapter for an exclusive interview where he discussed his songwriting and career achievements. In 2016 he participated in the GRAMMY Foundation and GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live's Icon: The Life And Legacy Of B.B. King alongside Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Slash as well as performed at the 10th Annual MusiCares MAP Fund concert in 2014, which raises funds to provide addiction recovery serviced to music creators in need.
- Mo' has supported charities, including Playing for Change Foundation, The Musicians Foundation and Wild Animal Sanctuary. He was in the No Nukes Group and performed at the Concert for Peace in honor of the Dalai Lama in 2007.
