"I always say if music can't make you cry, you're a hopeless case. I don't cry very much myself, but it's my job to make you cry."

  • Born Linda Maria Ronstadt on July 15, 1946, in Tucson, Arizona
  • After a stint with the Stone Poneys, Linda Ronstadt made an impression as a solo artist in 1974 when her Heart Like A Wheel album rose to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the hit song "You're No Good" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
  • Ronstadt earned her first career GRAMMY win for 1975 for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female for "I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You)." She made her GRAMMY stage debut at the 25th GRAMMY Awards in 1983 with a performance of her GRAMMY-nominated song "Get Closer."
  • Did you know? Prior to forming the Eagles, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner were in Ronstadt's touring band.
