Biography

"When I work alone, my process is like painting. With Fleetwood Mac, it's more like movie making."

  • Born Lindsey Adams Buckingham on Oct. 3, 1949, in Palo Alto, Calif.

  • Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and quickly emerged as a dominant songwriting and production force, with hits including "Go Your Own Way" (No. 10), "Tusk" (No. 8) and "Big Love" (No. 5).

  • In 1981 he released his debut solo album, Law And Order, which featured the Top 10 hit "Trouble." In 2017 Buckingham teamed with Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie for a duet album, Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie, which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200.

  • With Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham won two GRAMMYs, including Album Of The Year, at the 20th GRAMMY Awards for Rumours.
