Biography
"My advice to young people wanting to make music and to be in this industry is to really spend your time making music. Make so much music you have no friends. Make music. If you're making cool art, then everything else will fall into line."
- Born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor on Nov. 7, 1996, in Auckland, New Zealand

- Lorde earned her first career GRAMMY nominations and wins at the 56th GRAMMY Awards for 2013. She earned Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Royals." Lorde made her GRAMMY stage debut performing the GRAMMY-winning hit during that year's telecast.
- Did you know? The singer/songwriter chose her stage name because she was fascinated with "royals and aristocracy."
