Biography

"A really big thing I've learned — and I think it's so liberating — is when you realize no one knows what they're doing."

  • Born Maren Larae Morris on April 10, 1990, in Arlington, Texas
  • Released in 2016, Maren Morris' debut full-length album, Hero, earned a spot at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Two tracks from the album, "My Church" and "80s Mercedes," reached No. 5 and No. 11, respectively, on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
  • Morris earned her first GRAMMY at the 59th GRAMMY Awards for Best Country Solo Performance for "My Church." She made her GRAMMY stage debut the same year, performing a rendition of her song "Once" with GRAMMY winner Alicia Keys.
  • Morris attended the first-ever GRAMMY Camp, making her the first camp alumnus to win a GRAMMY.
  • In 2016 Morris participated in an installment of the GRAMMY U Off The Record series, during which she discussed her career and collaborating with songwriters/producers busbee, Natalie Hemby and Laura Veltz. She also performed songs from her debut album, Hero.
