  • Mastodon's third studio album, 2006's Blood Mountain,  was their first to reach the Top 40, peaking at No. 32 on the Billboard 200.
     
  • Mastodon received their first GRAMMY nomination for 2006 for Best Metal Performance for "Colony Of Birchmen."
     
  • The group's 2004 album, Leviathan, is loosely based on the Herman Melville novel Moby Dick.
