Seldom in rock and roll has a debut album achieved such influence, popularity and longevity as Pearl Jam's Ten. Released in 1991, Ten yielded three hit singles: "Alive," "Even Flow" and, "Jeremy," which launched the band into superstardom with help from the heavy rotation of the songs' music videos on MTV.
-
Three years after "Jeremy" earned the band their first career GRAMMY nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal at the 35th GRAMMY Awards, Pearl Jam won their first career GRAMMY for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Spin The Black Circle" from their sophomore album, Vitalogy, at the 38th GRAMMY Awards.
-
Nearly two decades later, the group's 10th studio album, 2013's Lightning Bolt, won the GRAMMY for Best Recording Package at the 57th GRAMMY Awards.
-
Over the course of their nearly 30-year career, Pearl Jam have released literally hundreds of official live concert bootleg albums in addition to their studio catalog. In all, the band has sold over 31 million albums in the U.S., according to the RIAA.
-
In 2017, Pearl Jam were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame by the band's longtime friend and television personality David Letterman. Letterman lauded not only the band's musical impact, but also their generosity and activism, calling them "something more than a band, a true living cultural organism, they would recognize injustice and stand up … and react."
-
Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready is a recipient of the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in recognition of his significant support of MusiCares and his commitment to helping others in the addiction recovery process. McCready was presented the award at their 2018 Concert For Recovery on May 10, 2018 at The Showbox in the band's hometown of Seattle.
