Biography

"Music really becomes the soundtrack to the major events to your life."

  • Born Sheryl Suzanne Crow on Feb. 11, 1962, in Kennett, Missouri
  • Sheryl Crow's debut solo album, 1993's Tuesday Night Music Club, hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200, staying on the chart for 100 weeks. The album featured the hits "All I Wanna Do" (No. 2) and "Strong Enough" (No. 5).
  • At the 37th GRAMMY Awards, the singer/songwriter won three GRAMMYs for 1994: Best New Artist and Record Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "All I Wanna Do." That same year, she performed "All I Wanna Do" for her GRAMMY stage debut.
  • Did you know? Before her solo career launched, Crow sang for commercial jingles for the likes of McDonald's and Toyota. She also was a background vocalist on Michael Jackson's Bad World Tour from 1987–1989.
  • She performed "Boots Of Spanish Letter" at the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute concert honoring Bob Dylan. The annual gala raises funds for MusiCares, which provides services and resources that cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies for music people.
  • In 2016 Crow donated more than 100 personal items for an eBay auction benefiting Stand Up To Cancer.
