Biography
"Self-love is really a foundation for everything, and however you practice or express that is so, so important."
- Born Solange Piaget Knowles on June 24, 1986, in Houston, Texas
- Solange scored her first Top 10 album with 2008's Sol-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams, but it was her No. 1 album, 2016's A Seat At The Table, that rocketed her into the mainstream. That album spawned four Top 20 singles on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs Chart: "Weary" (No. 19), "Mad" (No. 17), "Don't Touch My Hair" (No. 14), and "Cranes In The Sky" (No. 11).
- Solange earned her first career GRAMMY at the 59th GRAMMY Awards for 2016 for "Cranes In The Sky," which took home Best R&B Performance.
- Did you know? When she was 15 years old, Solange replaced a back-up dancer during a tour for Destiny's Child, which featured her sister, Beyoncé.
