- Born Dec. 30, 1978, in Los Angeles
- Tyrese released his debut single "Nobody Else" in 1998. The track peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was part of his self-titled debut album, which reached No. 17 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.
- Tyrese received his first GRAMMY nomination for 1999 for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance for "Sweet Lady." He has gone on to receive additional nominations for categories such as Best R&B Album, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B song, among others.
- Tyrese got his starring in a Coca-Cola commercial where he sang the brand's famous tagline "Always Coca-Cola."
- The soulful singer sang a tribute to Lionel Richie at the 2016 MusicCares Person of the Year event in Richie's honor. The annual Person of the Year gala raises funds for MusiCares, which provides services and resources that cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies for music people.
- Tyrese has a youth development nonprofit called The Tyrese Gibson Watts Foundation. He has also supported NAACP, UNICEF, United Negro College Fund, and Usher's New Look Foundation.
