  • Born Usher Raymond IV on Oct. 14, 1978, in Dallas, Texas
     
  • Usher's 1997 sophomore album, My Way, hit No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned his first chart-topping single, "Nice & Slow," as well as the No. 2 hits "You Make Me Wanna…" and "My Way."
     
  • Usher won his first career GRAMMY for 2001 for "U Remind Me" for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. At the 47th GRAMMYs, Usher made his GRAMMY performance debut alongside James Brown, performing "Caught Up" and "Get Up — I Feel Like Being Like A Sex Machine."
     
  • Did you know? In 2008 Usher and Scooter Braun signed Justin Bieber to his first deal as part of their joint production venture, the Raymond Braun Media Group.
     
  • Usher performed the Commodores' "Lady (You Bring Me Up)" during the MusiCares Person of the Year tribute concert honoring Lionel Richie in 2016. The annual gala raises funds for MusiCares, which provides services and resources that cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies for music people.
     
  • In 1999 Usher established the New Look Foundation, which is dedicated to transforming the lives of underserved youth through a comprehensive program that develops passion-driven, global leaders.
