The GRAMMY Foundation and the Atlanta Chapter gave 30 music students from Atlanta-area high schools the opportunity to participate in a GRAMMY SoundChecks event with 16-year-old R&B sensation Chris Brown at the Coca Cola Roxy Theater on April 27.

Michele Caplinger, Senior Executive Director of the Atlanta Chapter, moderated the question-and-answer session during the SoundCheck. Brown spoke freely of his early success as an artist and the life that comes with it. He explained that his normal day often involves playing basketball if he isn't somewhere performing, and that due to his schedule, he rarely had time to spend time with friends. He also discussed his childhood, from academics to his involvement in gymnastics, which revealed his talents at an early age.

He signed autographs for students before starting the sound check. Brown and his dancers warmed up on stage, making back flips and dance moves look easy. He then grabbed the mic and practiced a few of his most popular songs from his self-titled album.
