The GRAMMY Foundation Grant Program announced that $100,000 in grants will be awarded to nine recipients in the United States, Canada and the Dominican Republic. Funds will be given to help facilitate a range of research, archiving and preservation projects on a variety of subjects including: investigating links between pre-school children's rhythm ability and their pre-reading skills; completing the preservation and digitization of the world's most complete collection of commercially recorded Mexican-American vernacular music; and creating a preservation plan for the collection of recordings of Roy Harris, a renowned 20th century American classical music composer.
