The GRAMMY Foundation and the Memphis Chapter hosted GRAMMY SoundChecks With Blue Man Group at the New Orleans Arena for GRAMMY U and high school students from the greater New Orleans area. Students sat in on the pre-performance soundcheck and were able to witness activities taking place before the concert later that evening. Following the soundcheck, students were able to ask questions of the main sound engineers on the tour and obtain an exclusive look at the mixing boards. Subsequently, they were escorted to another room where they met with members of Blue Man Group, touring band members and key production coordinators. Blue Man Group shared interesting personal touring experiences and details on being part of such a popular corporate entity with shows across the globe.
Following the discussion, two lucky students won giveaway prizes, each receiving a guitar signed by Blue Man Group and band members. All students were provided free tickets to the concert that evening, as well as special VIP passes for a meet-and-greet with the band after the show.
