On Sept. 25 a group of 19 GRAMMY U members from the Atlanta Chapter were invited to attend a GRAMMY SoundChecks with Georgia-based musician Corey Smith at the Athens Classic Center. Members had the opportunity to interact and engage with Smith and sat in the audience for an exclusive soundcheck. Following the soundcheck, Smith held a question-and-answer session moderated by Summer Lutz and Cartter Fontaine, the Chapter's GRAMMY U Campus Representatives from University of Georgia. Smith spoke regarding his daily schedule, how he manages his time between his family and music, and his songwriting process. Other discussion topics came from audience questions regarding how Smith manages his time while on tour, performing on stage, recording new songs, preparing for live performances, and advice for aspiring music industry professionals. Following the question-and-answer session, Smith took photos with GRAMMY U members and staff, and students left with Smith's unique perspective on the music industry.
