GRAMMY SoundChecks With Duffy

GRAMMY U members were given an opportunity to attend a GRAMMY SoundChecks with Duffy on Oct. 10 at the Orpheum Theatre.

Students gathered in the venue's lobby and were then escorted to the first two rows where they were able to watch Duffy conduct her concert soundcheck. Duffy performed songs from her Rockferry album including "Mercy," "Syrup & Honey," "Rockferry," and "Warwick Avenue."

After the soundcheck, Duffy and her band members shared with GRAMMY U students some of their highlights in touring the United States and how they came to know one another. Members were then given the opportunity to ask questions and topics ranged from how Duffy takes care of her voice to her musical inspirations. Students were surprised to learn that Duffy was raised in a small town in North Wales and her first musical experience was seeing a video of Mick Jagger singing "Jumpin' Jack Flash."
