The Chicago Chapter, in partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation, hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks with Island Records recording artists Fall Out Boy on June 11, at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago. The event gave approximately 25 GRAMMY University Network members a chance to go behind-the-scenes of a nationally touring live act. The session began with the students watching the band sound check as Chapter staff answered questions and filled the students in on all the intricacies involved in a sound check.

After the sound check, the students attended an intimate question-and-answer session moderated by Kyle Ryan (editor, The Onion A.V. Club), with band members Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Andy Hurley. The group discussed how they got their start in the music industry, how they find inspiration for their unique style of music, and the ups and downs of life on and off tour.

A special thank you goes to tour manager Dan Suh for all of his assistance with this program, and to Kyle Ryan for his professionalism and willingness to assist with this program.
