On Feb. 26 the Chapter along with the GRAMMY Foundation hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks with recording artist Jesse McCartney, who provided 24 eager GRAMMY U members special access to his soundcheck at the Nokia Theater. McCartney's production manager Mitchell Keller spoke to the students about the rituals that the band goes through while on the road. The students then watched McCartney perform several songs with his band, including "Beautiful Soul."
Following the performance, McCartney and his music director Nisan Stewart fielded questions from the audience on various topics including how he has successfully transformed his career from Dreamstreet to today and how he deals with critics.
