On Nov. 29 the Memphis Chapter of The Recording Academy hosted GRAMMY SoundChecks with the Jonas Brothers at the FedEx Forum during the band's stop in Memphis as the opening act for Miley Cyrus' "Best of Both Worlds" tour. High school students from the Memphis University School were given the opportunity to watch the band's sound check where they rehearsed some of their most popular songs. The brothers then headed backstage to have a question-and-answer session with the students. The band spoke about what it is like to be on tour, their relationship with Disney and how their record deal developed. When asked about how they deal with trying to finish high school while on the road, Nick, the youngest of the three brothers, spoke about his home schooling while on tour. Another topic of conversation was "Band in a Bus," the Gibson Tour bus where they have recorded songs during their tour. The GRAMMY SoundChecks event was a success and also introduced students to the Academy's GRAMMY U program.
