On April 14 the Nashville Chapter and GRAMMY Foundation hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks with Katy Perry for 30 GRAMMY U members a few hours prior to her sold-out concert at Cannery Ballroom. The students crowded the front of the stage as Perry kicked things off by performing her latest single, "Hot N Cold." After her performance, Perry joined the students in front of the stage.
Perry admitted that she tries to be a very honest person and welcomed any questions the students had for her. ABC Radio's Hunter Kelly initiated the first couple of questions, with topics including how Perry began her career in Nashville as a songwriter/artist. She was extremely humble about her success thus far, "I have to be on as soon as I step out into the public. That is sometimes stressful, but I knew exactly what I was getting myself into when I chose to be in this business."
