On Dec. 9 the Philadelphia Chapter and the GRAMMY Foundation hosted GRAMMY SoundChecks with Hidden Beach Recording group Kindred The Family Soul. Founded by married couple Fatin Dantzler, a Philadelphia Chapter Board member, and Aja Graydon, the group is currently on tour promoting their new album The Arrival. Kindred The Family Soul performed a wide range of songs including a cover of Notorious B.I.G.'s hit single "Juicy," and their own hits such as "House Of Love" and "Where Would I Be (The Question)."
After watching the band perform, GRAMMY U members in attendance had the privilege of meeting with the band and asking questions about their music careers. The band discussed vocal health, the creation of the band, the differences between the current band and their early days, and their inspiration to continue in music among other topics. Attendees were also able to speak with the band members about their own career goals and inspirations. The band was very generous with their willingness to speak about their life experiences and talked with each student in attendance.
