On Sept. 2 the Los Angeles Chapter hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks with bassist Stanley Clarke, keyboardist Chick Corea and drummer Lenny White for a behind-the-scenes private rehearsal with three of music's finest jazzmen.

After arriving members were escorted to the garden boxes for rehearsals where they also had the opportunity to see the opening act, John Scofield And The Piety Street Band, perform their soundcheck. Clarke, Corea and White then took the stage along with special guests Bill Connors, Chaka Khan and Jean Luc-Ponty for an exclusive rehearsal.

Following their soundcheck, White held a question-and-answer session with members covering topics such as life on tour, why he chose to play the drums, how the band chooses which songs to play during a show, his influences, and current bands he listens to, a list which included Paramore.

At the conclusion of the event Corea's team provided every GRAMMY U member with a ticket for that evening's concert. Prior to the concert, students met with Corea for a meet-and-greet and question-and-answer session.
