The Atlanta Chapter and the GRAMMY Foundation hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks with Zac Brown Band for 30 GRAMMY U members at the Fox Theatre on Oct. 30.

The concert was held as a benefit to raise funds for the reconstruction of the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Ga., which was destroyed by a fire last June. The Zac Brown Band began the soundcheck with an unannounced guest as Kid Rock took the stage and rehearsed four songs with the band. During the following question-and-answer session, the students heard from band members Coy Bowles, guitarist/organist; Zac Brown, vocalist; Clay Cook, Atlanta Chapter Board member and songwriter; James DeMartini, fiddler; Chris Fryar, drummer; and John Hopkins, bass player. The conversation was moderated by Chapter Senior Executive Director Michele Caplinger. GRAMMY U Campus Representatives Ashley Brazeal and Hope Sonam assisted Caplinger with questions focusing on the band members' experiences and careers in the entertainment industry.
