Luis Enrique and C4 Trío won the inaugural Best Roots Song for "Aguacero" at the 2025 Latin GRAMMYS. The category was awarded during the Latin GRAMMY Premiere at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

As of publish time, the award is the fourth Latin GRAMMYS win for Nicaraguan singer/songwriter Enrique, who co-wrote the song alongside multiple Latin GRAMMYS winners Fernando Osorio and Rodner Padilla.

Written as a tribute to the people of Venezuela, "Aguacero" is a prayer turned into a song that incorporates verses from the country’s national anthem. While not a protest song, its lyrics speak to millions of Venezuelans in exile and incorporate phrases historically used by the Venezuelan opposition as symbols of resistance.

"I want to thank everyone who was part of this project, but especially my friends and colleagues Fernando Osorio and Rodner Padilla," Enrique said while accepting the award. "When the idea came to me to write this song, they were the ones I called, and they said yes immediately."

The songwriter added that C4 Trío were unable to attend the ceremony due to a special 20th anniversary performance in Miami.

Other nominees for the Best Roots Song included "Como Quisiera Quererte" by Natalia Lafourcade & El David Aguilar, "El Palomo y La Negra" by Natalia Lafourcade, "Jardín del Paraíso" by Monsieur Periné & Bejuco, and "Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii" by Bad Bunny.
