Pandora Listener Hours Up 76 Percent
Streaming radio service Pandora announced that its listener hours have increased 76 percent year-over-year to 1.12 billion per month. The service added 400,000 new users in July and now has a 6.13 percent share of the radio-listening market, up from 5.98 percent in June. In other business news, Nashville's metro area ranked No. 1 in a new Metro Music Index compiled by Martin Prosperity Institute, which measures the concentration of musicians and music-related businesses relative to city size. Nashville was followed by the metro areas of New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. (8/7)
