Physical Shipments Down In Japan
Physical audio product shipments totaled 150.4 million units in Japan during the first three quarters of 2010, a 4 percent decline from the same period in 2009, representing a 13 percent drop in value to $2 billion, according to the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Shipments of international physical products declined 16 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. (10/21)

GRAMMY winner Lil Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being jumped from No. 16 to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 125,000 units sold, marking the largest leap to No. 1 since Radiohead's In Rainbows moved from No. 156 to the top on Jan. 19, 2008. In related chart news, Latin GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter Marco Antonio Solis has now garnered the most No. 1 albums in the history of Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart with En Total Plenitude becoming his 10th chart-topper, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Overall albums sales for the week ending Oct. 17 totaled 5.01 million units, down 14 percent from the comparable sales week last year. Year-to-date album sales are at 230.97 million, down 14 percent compared to the same period last year. (10/21)
