In just 10 midnights, Swifties can revel in the newest Taylor Swift album. That’s right: Swift's much-anticipated evermore follow-up, Midnights, is on the way.
That's what the singer revealed at the 2022 MTV VMAs on Aug. 28, when she took the stage to accept the coveted Video of the Year trophy.
"I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out October 21," she said. "And I will tell you more at midnight."
Naturally, fans stampeded to TaylorSwift.com at the ordained time — and were greeted by the album’s artwork and a poetic message from Swift: "We lie awake in love and fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren't—– right this minute — about to make some fateful life-altering mistake."
She shared a few other curiosity-piquing details, setting the stage for what is bound to be another one of Swift’s mystical musical chapters. As Swift continues to unveil details, here's everything we know about Taylor Swift's 10th studio album, Midnights, so far.

It’s A Bit Of A Time Capsule
As Swift wrote in her official album announcement, Midnights will be made up of “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”
"This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face," she explained. "For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve… we'll meet ourselves."
It Will (Appropriately) Feature 13 Tracks
Thirteen sleepless nights amounts to 13 songs — and as Swifties know, that number may not be a coincidence. Swift (who was born on Dec. 13) has long claimed 13 as her lucky number, and she has referenced numerous times throughout her career and catalog. Looks like Midnight will continue that trend.
Swift announced the album's tracklist in an Instagram post; its A-side opening with "Lavender Haze" and featuring evocative titles such as "Anti-Hero" and You're On Your Own, Kid." Side B is similarly beguiling with songs titled "Karma," "Sweet Nothing" and "Mastermind."

As for the CD version, it contains a "moonstone blue marbled color disc," "unique disc artwork" and a 24-page version of said lyric booklet — yes, with never-before-seen photos included.
