When a beautiful piano arrangement is met with a delicate vocal, the combination makes for an unforgettable performance. Arthur Hanlon and Evaluna Montaner proved that — literally — with their latest duet.
For their episode of Reimagined At Home, the Detroit-born pianist and Venezulan singer took on Natalie Cole's GRAMMY-winning hit "Unforgettable" at Miami's famed Criteria Recording Studios. Montaner's sweet tone matches Hanlon's lighthearted piano, creating a delightful rendition of a classic tune.
The pair previously teamed up for another haunting cover in 2020, reimagining Leonard Cohen’s "Hallelujah" for Hanlon's Piano Y Mujer album. The project was also an HBOMax special, which saw Hanlon collaborate with Latin singers Kany Garcia, Natalia Jimenez, Goyo, and Nella.
"Unforgettable" dominated the 34th GRAMMY Awards in 1992, winning Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Traditional Pop Performance, and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocal(s). Cole — who released the single as a duet with her father, Nat King Cole — performed the track that night alongside video footage of Nat.
