Nigerian highlife singer Flavour has had a successful career spanning two decades. But he knows he wouldn't have done it without the presence of God — also known as "the emperor," "the conqueror," "the champion" and "the lion" in his single, "Game Changer (Dike)."
"Clear the road for those who know," Flavour commands, switching between English and his native language, Igbo. "Step aside for the game changer."
In this episode of Global Spin, Flavour delivers a live performance of the track from one of his shows at London's Koko Camden earlier this year. He bounces across the stage, encouraging the audience to sing along.
Flavour began touring through Europe on July 1 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with eight other stops in Belgium, Sweden and more.
"Game Changer (Dike)" appears on Flavour's most recent album, African Royalty, released Nov. 30 via 2Nite Music Group. The 12-track LP also boasts collaborations with fellow highlife musicians Ejyk Nwamba ("Fearless") and The Cavemen. ("Osiso Osiso") and marks his first release since 2020's Flavour of Africa.
