On May 14, the Florida Chapter, in conjunction with the GRAMMY Foundation, presented GRAMMY Career Day for an audience of more than 600 Miami-Dade County students at the University of Miami. The event featured more than 20 professionals from numerous fields in the music industry participating in panel discussions, workshops and a demo review. Students were also treated to performances by recording artist Karina Pasian and the Miami Beach Senior High Rock Ensemble.

The panel featured Carolina Arenas, senior label manager/A&R, Machete Music; moderator Leila Cobo, executive director of Latin programming/content, Billboard; Roger Nichols, GRAMMY-winning engineer/producer; Qwote; recording artist; Rey Sanchez, professor of music, University of Miami; and Eric Schilling; GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY-winning engineer/producer.

Following the panel, students had the opportunity to choose two of four workshop sessions to attend. "Creative Careers: The Creative Spark" featured moderator and vocalist/Chapter President Beth Cohen, musician Doug Emery, producer/songwriter Pete Masitti, Karina Pasian, Qwote, and Latin GRAMMY-nominated musician/producer Dan Warner. "Recording Arts Careers: A Look Inside The Studio" featured moderator Roger Nichols, engineer/producer/musician Vincent di Pasquale, Emmy-winning engineer Matt Knobel, and Eric Schilling. "Business Of Music: Show Me The Money" featured Carolina Arenas, SESAC Latina Associate Director Kenny Cordova, The Hit Factory Criteria Miami General Manager/Vice President Trevor Fletcher, and entertainment attorney Angie Martinez, Esq. "Entrepreneurial DJing: Spinning Your Own Career" featured Paul D'Errico, Affective Music Group Founder/CEO DJ Affect, 99 Jamz radio personality and Artist Related Founder/CEO DJ Irie, and DJ and Catalyst Media Solution/DJ Peoples Principal Marc Vane.

Later in the day, a GRAMMY U Demo Review event was held at which student-submitted demos were critiqued by a panel of industry executives and producers.
