The Chicago Chapter, in partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation, hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks With A Fine Frenzy (featuring singer/songwriter Alison Sudol) on March 12 at Schubas Tavern in Chicago. The event gave GRAMMY U members a chance to go behind the scenes of a national touring act. The session began with the students watching Sudol soundcheck as Chapter staff answered questions regarding the intricacies involved with the soundcheck process.
After the soundcheck, the students attended an intimate 30-minute question-and-answer session with Sudol. The singer/pianist discussed how she got her start in the music industry, where she finds inspiration for her unique musical style, and the ups and downs of life on and off tour.
Throughout the session, the students were engaged and captivated by the generosity, insightfulness and candid nature that Sudol and the tour staff demonstrated. A special thank you goes to Sudol and tour manager Mike Spinner for all of their assistance with this program.
