The Nashville Chapter, along with the GRAMMY Foundation, hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks with singer/songwriter Dave Barnes for 40 GRAMMY U Members at Exit/In. As soon as Barnes hit the stage for his soundcheck, the students crowded around to hear some of his recent hits including "Nothing Fancy."
Following the soundcheck, Barnes joined the students for a question-and-answer session. Barnes, a Nashville native himself, had lots of helpful information for those members who are looking to break in to the music business as artists. He mentioned how he graduated from a local college where several of the members attend, and also gave them tips about what to look out for in the business. Barnes also donated two autographed headshots to the GRAMMY Foundation's Online Charity Auction.
