The GRAMMY Foundation and The Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter hosted a GRAMMY SoundChecks with Maroon 5 for 22 GRAMMY University Network members at the Gwinnett Center Arena in Duluth, Ga. The students were thrilled to receive a backstage tour from the band's assistant tour manager, who showed them Adam Levine's yoga room, the loading deck, production and tour manager offices, the press area, and the engineering units off and on stage. The GRAMMY U student members enjoyed an intimate setting when the band came down in the house to meet with them and answer their questions. Students learned firsthand about Maroon 5's touring and recording experiences, their proudest moments — including when they won their first GRAMMY — and what the band plans to accomplish next. The band then turned the tables by asking students questions about what they plan on doing in the music industry.

The band members were quite impressed with the students and expressed delight in being a part of this marvelous program. The band was nice enough to take pictures with all students, and some GRAMMY U members were lucky enough to receive drums sticks signed by drummer Matt Flynn. After Maroon 5 completed their sound check, they graciously offered students tickets for their show later that evening. The Maroon 5 GRAMMY U event was as huge success, and students are looking forward to other GRAMMY SoundChecks in the future.
