Superstar cellist HAUSER proves that you don't need a vocal line to get the party started with his rendition of "Let's Get Loud," Jennifer Lopez's dance-floor banger from her 1999 debut studio album, On the 6.
In this episode of ReImagined at Home, HAUSER covers "Let's Get Loud" in a performance that is as opulent, fiery and festive as the song itself. Set in a grand ballroom decked out with ornately trimmed windows and floor-to-ceiling red and gold drapes, the cellist leads his orchestra in an all-instrumental dance party.
Each instrument gets their moment to be virtuosic, with HAUSER playfully riffing with the first-chair cellist and pumping up the percussionist during a drum solo. Of course, the star of the show is HAUSER's cello, which takes on Lopez's vocal line and interjects plenty of riffs and trills throughout the performance.
HAUSER is including a studio version of "Let's Get Loud" on his upcoming new album, a Latin dance project called The Player, which is due September 16 via Sony Music Masterworks. According to a press release, the album will feature accompaniment from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and include a selection of classic songs and modern-day hits, all ReImagined with the artist's signature style.
With "Let's Get Loud," HAUSER was aiming for imaginative reinvention while still remaining true to the spirit of Lopez's original version. "This song is so full of spirit — that quintessential Latin passion," he explains in the release. "We incorporated many classical elements you won't find in the original version, but it still has the energy of all the musicians rocking out and having a great time together."
