On "Good Life," singer/songwriter Idman details the pain of watching a former love flourish. She's filled with sadness and bitterness but, at this point in her life, can now accept that her feelings are valid.
"'Cause I don't want to hear about your good life/ And I don't hear it after goodbyes/ 'Cause I don't wanna see you out there/ Out there winning while I'm sitting right here," Idman sings on the chorus.
In this episode of Global Spin, the Somali-Canadian songstress offers an unapologetic performance of the poignant track. Idman freely bounces around the room, illuminated by neon purplish pink lights.
"This song was instrumental in my healing, and I truly hope that it finds the people it can hold in the same ways it held me," Idman said in a press statement. "I hope anyone who's ever had to watch their s—ty exes knows that their distance and hurt feelings are valid and justified."
In the track's music video, Idman pays homage to the late Ronnie Spector — a victim of domestic abuse by her ex-husband Phil Spector — as she alludes to the Ronettes vocalist's demanded order to ride with a dummy of Phil when she was driving alone.
