GRAMMY-winning keyboardist Isaiah "Ikey" Owens died Oct. 14. A cause of death has not been confirmed. He was 38. Owens started his music career with the Long Beach Dub Allstars. He went on to collaborate with dub band De Facto before joining the Mars Volta in 2001. Owens garnered a GRAMMY for Best Rock Performance for "Wax Simulacra" with the Mars Volta for 2009. He subsequently joined the Free Moral Agents and worked with artists such as Mastodon and Sublime, among others. In 2012 Owens joined GRAMMY winner Jack White's all-male backing band the Buzzards, most recently appearing on White's 2012 Album Of The Year GRAMMY-nominated Blunderbuss and 2013's No. 1 album Lazaretto.
