Along with being an accomplished producer — who has worked with SOFI TUKKER, Dom Dolla, Hayden James, and Gorgon City, among many others — Giobbi is active as a performer and DJ, as well as in activism and entrepreneurial spaces.
But it all comes down to how LP Giobbi builds a song, as detailed in this episode of Behind The Board. Therein, she explains her rhythm-first approach to music-making, as well as the delineation between producing and DJing.
"Every morning that I work out, I watch a different DJ set," LP Giobbi explains of her daily process. "I just Shazam through the whole thing every time I hear anything I like, and then follow the wormhole," she adds, detailing how this leads her to artist after artist, and song after song.
Elsewhere in the revealing clip, LP Giobbi discusses her beginnings, navigating the music industry, and how being raised by Deadheads informed her musical life.
Giobbi just released her latest single, "All In A Dream" (featuring DJ Tennis and Joseph Ashworth) on June 29. Listen to the new track here, check out her video interview above, and keep checking GRAMMY.com for more episodes of Behind The Board.
